chldrns wants to remind everyone to stay true to their inner child.

When he was 8 years old, the video game Guitar Hero sparked his interest in wanting to be a rockstar, and since then has never left music alone.  Born and raised in Mexico, Juan Carlos Nunez started DJing at the age of 12 to become the eclectic producer and engineer he is now. His interest in different styles of music leads him to explore and create fusions of different genres in his productions, and sees himself simply as a “music maker”. Through his DJ sets and productions, chldrns wants to provide his audience with the freedom to express themselves freely, and gives an example to his audience by not conforming to specific standards or genres and always sharing his different explorations in music.

In his early years, chldrns started uploading trap instrumentals to Soundcloud, which made him a name in the future beats scene, making part of Phuture Collective in 2016. Two years later, “Perfect High”, his collaboration with Dontloveme and Skylar Bennett was played by San Holo on BitBird Radio.

It was during the pandemic lockdown of 2020 that chldrns created his first full-length album, “When I Go To Sleep” featuring his own vocals and collaborations with long time friends Dawn Avenue. All of chldrns’ releases are a clear example of the eclectic explorations in sound that he has been known for throughout his active years.

“Artists and creatives shouldn’t have to box themselves in a specific sound or aesthetic, experimenting with new ideas is crucial to development, and is a process that the world deserves to be a part of. Even projects that seem unfinished are an art form worth sharing”. – chldrns
